Unsubscribe me please

For the past couple of months I’ve been of the mind that I get waaaayyyy too much email. I pondered for a moment just swearing off email all together, but that’s really hard when you’re on the web all the time and working in the internet world. Every website, app and business contact wants an email address. It’s the primary means of communicating for business. So how does one manage and control all this inbox clutter? Well, I’ve been testing Unsubscribe.com for a couple of months and I have to say I think it’s working.

They provide a web interface to manage unsubscribe activity and for a annual subscription fee they will even work on your behalf to remove you from email lists. In addition they have built in a nice capability to manage your identity sharing through Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Do you remember all the sites that you have opted-in with Facebook Connect, Twitter and LinkedIn? Probably not and even if you did, do you know how trustworthy they are? Unsubscribe tells you and even let’s you know how many of your friends have connected to these services too to give you an idea of what you would be missing sans connection sharing. Very cool indeed. For my money it’s very well worth the cost which is now FREE. Check them out.
